Ration Cards Promised in 7 Days But Bihar Villagers Still Waiting After 2 months

Video Volunteers community correspondent Tanju Devi reports from Tripolia village near Patna, Bihar.

As soon as the lockdown was enforced, the Bihar government, through its Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society or Jeevika, carried out surveys of those who did not have a ration card to distribute free ration.

They were promised a ration card within seven days. But it has been more than two months since the lockdown was announced and the villagers are still waiting for their ration cards.

Many are facing difficulties in feeding their family members and going about their daily lives.
